The colder, darker winter months can also be hard on our mental health. The winter blues, or seasonal affective disorder (SAD), affects around 2 million people in the UK. Even if you don’t feel like you are struggling, it’s a good idea to take some simple steps to protect your mental health and make sure you are feeling your best. Please see this link for some helpful advice on mental health and wellbeing.

Winter can also be a particularly worrying time if you are living with long term conditions. Please see the links below to help you stay well this winter.

Managing Covid at Home – For the majority of people, Covid-19 is a mild illness that can be managed at home. Most people feel better within days or weeks. This link provides information and advice on how you can look after yourself and the people you care about during this time.

Help for households in Brighton & Hove struggling to pay for food, fuel and other essential costs. The council can offer vouchers or find another way to help access essential goods and services. Go to the Brighton and Hove website for more information. 

Moneyworks

A partnership of community advice agencies that can help with all money issues, including fuel bill payments and vouchers, debt and benefits help and foodbank referrals. To access the service, contact either:
