COVID-19 and Influenza Vaccination Programmes

Covid-19 Vaccinations

We are still awaiting final details on the COVID-19 vaccination programme. However, the latest guidance published by JCVI states the following groups should be offered a COVID-19 booster vaccine:

  • residents in a care home for older adults and staff working in care homes for older adults
  • frontline health and social care workers
  • all adults aged 50 years and over
  • persons aged 5 to 49 years in a clinical risk group, as set out in the Green Book, chapter 14a, tables 3 and 4
  • persons aged 5 to 49 years who are household contacts of people with immunosuppression
  • persons aged 16 to 49 years who are carers, as set out in the Green Book, chapter 14a, table 3

Currently our understanding is CV19 vaccinations will be provided for our patients at Brighton Racecourse. Further information to follow when we know more.

Influenza Vaccinations

From September, the surgery will be providing the free NHS flu jab for those who meet the eligible NHS criteria. The flu vaccine is available to all who are over the age of 65 and for those with specific health conditions who are at higher risk.

Additionally, this year, 50-64 year olds will also be offered the vaccine. This will be later in the flu year once the more vulnerable have been vaccinated. The NHS will make an announcement when this age group are able to book.

Please book your flu vaccine with the surgery as soon as you have received your invite.
