Covid-19 and Influenza Vaccination Programme Update – 12-11-2021

There are now large vaccination services at Churchill Square and at Brighton Racecourse, pop up clinics, pharmacy led services and mobile vaccination sessions across the city.

If you use the National Booking System website or call 119 and can’t see the details of a local service to you, it will be because:

– They using the National Booking System but are currently fully booked, and will be adding more appointments; or
– They are not using the National Booking System to arrange their appointments and are contacting patients directly, or
– They are are a mobile service and you can see their details on our walk in page: Walk-in vaccination sessions – Sussex Health & Care Partnership (sussexhealthandcare.uk)

For example Churchill Square is using the National Booking System to arrange appointments and offering walk in vaccinations. The Brighton Racecourse is arranging appointments directly, and is contacting patients who are eligible to book them an appointment.

More than 30,000 booster vaccinations are taking place each week, and there is vaccine supply to provide a booster for everyone who is eligible.

Evergreen’ offer still strong in the city

People are continuing to come forward for first and second doses in Brighton and Hove.

At the mobile services alone, more than 60 people came forward in the last two weeks for their primary doses.

The team led by HERE and with St John’s Ambulance is visiting locations across the city to make it as easy as possible for people to receive their vaccination.

Lastest data shows that 24 people had their first dose in the ambulance services, and 43 had their second in the recent sessions. This is on top of those attending for their booster.

As we approach winter, the NHS is calling for anyone who is yet to have their first dose to come forward and make sure they have had this vital protection.

Call for people with long term health conditions to come forward for flu jab

This week the NHS is calling for people with long term health conditions to make sure they have their flu vaccination.

In 2020/21 over half (56.5%) of people under 65 with a long-term health condition received a flu vaccination in the South East.

So far this year, almost a quarter of people (23.2%) under 65 with a health condition in the region have already had the flu vaccine.

The flu vaccine is more important than ever; the prevalence of flu might be higher than usual, and that makes it a significant public health concern.  Getting vaccinated is an important part of looking after yourself and staying well.

Your NHS COVID Pass can now be verified across venues in the EU and 16 other countries.  If you’ve saved your COVID Pass, as a PDF or to Apple Wallet, you’ll need to save it again to ensure it is up-to-date.  The COVID Pass within the NHS App will automatically update.

Reminder – vaccines not showing on the NHS APP?

A national Vaccine Data Resolution Service (VDRS) has been set up to help people with missing or incorrect vaccination records.

If you have been vaccinated in England, have a current NHS number and are registered with a GP practice in England then the service can help resolve issues with evidence of your vaccinations.

If you have missing or incorrect COVID-19 vaccination data, please call 119 and ask the call handler to make a referral to the VDRS team on your behalf. The VDRS team will then call you back within 5 working days.

Please note they cannot provide clinical advice and cannot assist at this time with queries related to vaccinations received overseas.
